Cinnamomum zeylanicum, commonly known as Ceylon cinnamon or true cinnamon, is a small evergreen tree native to south of India and Srilanka (formerly known as Ceylon). It is a member of the Lauraceae family. Ceylon cinnamon is highly valued for its distinct flavour and aroma, as well as its potential health benefits.
There is no scientifically established daily amount of Ceylon cinnamon that applies to everyone.
For normal cooking, you can simply use an amount that suits the food and your taste.
That might mean adding a small sprinkle to breakfast or using a little more in a recipe. There is no need to force yourself to consume a particular amount every day just because cinnamon is associated with possible health benefits.
This is an important point because research studies often use amounts and preparations that are very different from the cinnamon you keep in your kitchen.
Food use and supplement use are not the same thing.
